Step 1: Back Up Your Content
Before recycling, download any purchased books to your computer using the Kindle for PC/Mac app.
Step 2: Factory Reset the Device
Go to Settings > Reset. This removes your personal data.

Search for “e-waste recycling near me.” Many cities have drop-off days.
Option C: Retail Take-Back
Best Buy, Staples, and other electronics stores accept Kindles for free.
Option D: Donate
Schools, nursing homes, or prisons may accept working Kindles.
What Not to Do
